Kevin Grow, an 18-year old Bensalem High School Senior with Down Syndrome lights up the scoreboard with four 3-point field goals with his team-high 14 points on Senior Night.

Kevin Grow has been the team manager for the Bensalem High School boys' basketball team for the past four years. Kevin was given the chance to show everyone what he could do during the final game of his senior season. Kevin went into the game and not only scored, but hit four out of five 3-point field goals and finished with a team-high, 14 points! Kevin even made it onto ESPN's SportCenter highlights! We couldn't be happier for you Kevin, you deserve all of the accolades being heaped on you right now!

Makefield Elementary School - Pennsbury School District
Learning Support teacher, Diana Wurst, writes that March 21st marked the ninth anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day. This year, with the help of their teachers, Makefield students discovered the different ways that kids who have Down syndrome learn and play with their peers. The day started with a school-wide celebration as Principal Donna McCormick-Miller read the book, Taking Down Syndrome to School, on Makefield’s Kid Witness News during the morning announcements. Teachers followed this with in-class presentations that were differentiated by grade level. “A special thanks to the Makefield Special Education Team for coordinating an awesome awareness event,” said Ms. McCormick-Miller. The Philly Pretzel Factory donated over 300 pretzels in the shape of 2’s and 1’s (representing the 21st chromosome) in order to help with fundraising efforts. With additional support from McCaffrey’s food stores and the Barlow family, Makefield Elementary was able to raise $585 that will be donated to AHA (Athletes Helping Athletes), a local organization dedicated to promoting the inclusion of children with special needs.
